Recently I opened Eliris, a gift received during my trip in Northern Greece. I have to admit it was one my favorites from the very beginning, because of the cardboard gift tube, the vintage dark glass bottle, and the content written on the label: “Extraordinary organic extra-virgin olive oil”.
Well, I am big fan and daily consumer of extra-virgin olive oil and last, but not least, a professional with a strong background in public relations, so, I remotely feel a good marketing. But, considering all these, the real surprise and satisfaction came after opening the bottle, with the aromatic & fresh smell and fabulous taste, a little acid in the beginning and a great floral flavor towards the end, finishing with a sensation of sunshine and purity. I think this is the real, authentic taste of Greece.
Searching the story behind Eliris brand, I discovered Iris & Sam, the nice people who manage with meraki (doing something with soul, love or creativity) and cherish the family olive grove, positioned in the foothills of Menikio Mountains, with a beautiful, stunning view:
