Nascut si crescut la Paris intr-o familie frantuzeasca de conditie buna, Christian Louboutin si-a inventat de mic o lume proprie, gratie fascinatiei sale irezistibile pentru Egipt si faraoni, ajutat de faptul ca avea tenul masliniu si ca nu se simtea aproape deloc francez.

Pantofii creati de el au nume si lasa frau liber imaginatiei spre povesti contemporane, povesti cu printi si printese sau pur si simplu exotice si misterioase: Talitha, Pigalle, Mea Culpa, So Kate, Python Corazon, Marinière, Fifi, Air Chance, Geo Pump, Athena Alta, Cataclou, Mrs. Bouglione, Allegra si enumerarea continua in decorul eclectic din boutiques, asemeni celor 1001 de nopti.

 “People say I am the king of painful shoes. I don’t want to create painful shoes, but it is not my job to create something comfortable. I try to make high heels as comfortable as they can be, but my priority is design, beauty and sexiness. I’m not against them, but comfort is not my focus.”
